Tethers

Retail Security Tethers for Australian Display Environments

Tethers are a practical solution for securing retail display items while allowing customers to pick up and interact with products freely. Commonly used for electronics, power tools, handbags, vacuum cleaners, and accessories, these cables physically attach products to display fixtures - shelves, tables, or stands - preventing theft without disrupting the shopping experience.

Our range includes recoiling tethers that retract automatically when the product is returned, and fixed-length tethers for stable, low-movement displays. Both are available with adhesive mounting pads or loop-end attachments to suit different product types and display setups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are retail security tethers and how do they work?

Retail security tethers are cable or cord devices that physically attach a product to a display fixture such as a shelf, table, or stand. One end secures to the display via an adhesive pad or loop anchor, and the other end attaches directly to the product. The tether allows customers to pick up and examine the item within a limited range, while the cable prevents it from being taken from the display.

What types of tethers does Leading Solutions stock?

Leading Solutions stocks recoiling tethers, which retract automatically when the product is returned to the display position, and fixed-length tethers for stable or low-movement product displays. Both types are available with adhesive mounting pads or loop-end attachments. Our tethers are built for daily commercial use in Australian retail environments.

What products are tethers suitable for securing on display?

Tethers are suitable for a wide range of retail display items including power tools (drills, sanders), handbags, vacuum cleaners, small electronics, headphones, sporting goods, and accessories. They are ideal for any product that benefits from hands-on customer interaction but also needs physical securing to the display fixture to prevent theft.

Are security tethers reusable?

Yes. Most security tethers from Leading Solutions are reusable and designed for long-term use in commercial retail environments. They can be repositioned between product changes or store resets. Adhesive-mounted tethers may need replacement pads when repositioned, while loop-end tethers can typically be reattached without any additional components.

Do tethers work alongside EAS electronic article surveillance systems?

Yes. Tethers are commonly used alongside AM 58 kHz or RF 8.2 MHz EAS systems for dual-layer protection. The tether physically prevents removal of the product from the display, while EAS tags on the product trigger an alarm if it passes through the EAS detection gates at the store exit - providing both a physical and an electronic deterrent.

Can I purchase tethers in bulk for a multi-store rollout?

Yes. Leading Solutions offers trade and wholesale pricing for retailers purchasing security tethers in bulk or across multiple store locations across Australia.
