The Magewell Ultra Encode SDI Plus Module is a video encoding module designed for centralised deployment in a Modator 2U rackmount system. It captures SDI video and provides live streaming, recording and network video output in a compact, hot-swappable form factor.

With support for SDI input and loop-through, dual-stream encoding, multiple streaming protocols and local or network recording, the module is suited to broadcast, production and other professional video workflows. It can be configured and managed through its web interface or Magewell Control Hub.

SDI Capture and Encoding

The module accepts SDI signals through its BNC input and provides a loop-through output. It supports SD, HD, 3G and 6G SDI standards, with input formats including 4Kp30, 1080p and 720p.

H.264 and H.265 encoding supports a main stream and an optional sub stream. Video settings include resolution and frame-rate selection, aspect ratio conversion, cropping and image rotation.

Streaming and Recording Options

Ultra Encode SDI Plus Module supports protocols including NDI HX2, NDI HX3, RTSP, RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, HLS, TS over UDP and TS over RTP. It can stream to multiple destinations, with the number of simultaneous sessions depending on the protocol used.
