Flexible SDI Encoding and Streaming

The Magewell Ultra Encode SDI is a standalone encoder for streaming SDI video to online platforms and IP destinations. It combines SDI input and loop-through connections with configurable video and audio encoding and a range of streaming protocols.

With support for SD, HD and 3G-SDI signals, dual-stream encoding and browser-based management, Ultra Encode SDI is suited to broadcast, live events, education and other applications that need to distribute professional video over IP.

Flexible Streaming Options

Ultra Encode SDI supports a range of streaming protocols, including RTMP/RTMPS, SRT, NDI HX2, HLS, RTSP and transport streams over UDP or RTP. It can also stream natively to Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.

Session capacity depends on the protocol. The device supports up to six sessions for several protocols, while HLS and RTSP are limited to one session and NDI HX2 to two sessions.

Configurable Encoding and Management

H.264 and H.265 encoding, dual-stream output and configurable video and audio settings allow the stream to be tailored to the destination. The browser-based Web UI provides access to device status, encoded-video preview and streaming controls.

Text, picture and clock overlays can be configured for each stream. APIs are also available for third-party control systems, and the encoder can be registered with Magewell Control Hub for centralised management.

SDI Connections and Network Access

The SDI input supports SD, HD and 3G formats, with an SDI loop-through connection for passing the source signal on to other equipment. Audio can be embedded in the SDI signal or supplied through the 3.5 mm line input.

For network connectivity, Ultra Encode SDI provides Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi in station or access point mode. A USB 4G/5G modem can also be used; the modem is not supplied.
