4K HDMI to High-Bandwidth NDI

The Magewell Pro Convert HDMI 4K Plus Module converts a 4K HDMI input signal into high-bandwidth NDI, with HDMI loop-through for a local display or other equipment.

Designed as a module for the Modator 2U, it supports up to 4Kp60 input and NDI encoding. A Gigabit Ethernet port provides network connectivity, while USB-C supports configuration.

HDMI Input and Loop-Through

The HDMI 2.0 input accepts video signals in configurable formats, with support for custom EDID settings. The HDMI output provides loop-through, allowing the input signal to be passed to a connected display or other device.

Input and loop-through support signals up to 4096 Ɨ 2160 at 60fps in 4:4:4, 8-bit format.

High-Bandwidth NDI Encoding

The module encodes real-time NDI streams at up to 4096 Ɨ 2160 at 60fps or 1920 Ɨ 1080 at 240fps, both in 4:2:2, 8-bit format.

Output can match the input resolution or use a custom resolution, with frame-rate options including the original rate or one-half, one-third or one-quarter of the input frame rate.

Configuration and Management

Configuration and management are available through the web UI, which provides real-time information about the device and signals. Settings include deinterlacing, EDID, scaling, frame rate, aspect ratio and network connection.

The module can also be registered with Magewell Control Hub for remote centralised management and supports firmware updates and HTTP APIs.
